Why arent Faction titles considered as PvP titles for HoM - Guild Wars Forums

Because there are also tons of ways to earn the titles in PvE.

The faction titles can be earned through vanquishing and killing monsters which are not PvP sources. Therefore, they are not considered PvP titles.

^^This^^ I got over 80% of my Kurzick title through PvE. I'm working (sorta) on the Luxon title and 100% of the points I've gotten so far are from PvE.

Not to mention Luxon and Kurzick Factions provide bonuses for PVE only skills.

There are no ways of obtaining Balthazar faction to gain Zaishen Keys in PVE. Yes you can buy keys as a PVE player, but one way or another Zaishen Keys will only enter the game via PVP.

I also think this was to help make sure everyone was able to obtain a PVP title for their HoM.

Zaishen coins.

Agree that kurz and lux shouldn't be counted as pvp as there is already one pvp title you can get entirely through pve.

Sadly a few years ago before anet nerfed it - players could get max lux/kurz title without even setting foot in pvp and they could do it easily - hero fast faction farming.

As people have said, it's due to all the pve grinders so if you're like me and got to r9 purely through AB/JQ (gave up being honest for the other ranks of course) then sure it's a bit of a buzzkill. It still remains a whole hell of a lot betetr than Zaishen rank...

Not true. I farm the zaishen challenge for b-faction primarily for z-keys. Plus there is the zaishen elite. I don't consider either to be PvP.

This is hotly debated, more the Zaishen title than Faction, but this too. Still, the only way it can be reasonably obtained in a decent amount of time is speed clears or otherwise vanquishing. Plus, AB wait times are insane, for pitiful rewards, and skill barely makes a difference with 8 (likely) scrubs on your team.

You can buy Z-keys with Zaisen coins - which you can get from doing the PvE Z-missions and Z-bounties. No need to PvP.

Just because you don't consider something PVP doesn't mean it isn't. It uses PVP skills and rules, therefore it is a form of PVP. Yes it should be more properly named PVAI, but what do you expect?

pretty simple minded splitting of hairs. Z challenge and elite are not Player VS Player.. no matter how you try to spin it. You can solo these as well.. not even the thin veneer of needing other players.

Bottom line, its just a name on a title. More correctly it is the Consumer of Z Keys title, and not much else.
